Local Bookshops

182 High St, Chatham ME4 4AS, UK – 01634 828929

It's a good shop with a decent stock but price plays a role. Does a specialist bookshop have a right to exist any more? Example, I was after a particular book and Waterstones could order it. £20 was the prices offered, I bought the book from Ebay for £3.75.

A fantastic peaceful atmosphere, the shop has two floors of books and the staff are friendly. There is also sitting arrangements upstairs for anyone who needs a quiet place to read.

Baggins Book Bazaar

19 High St, Rochester ME1 1PY, UK – 01634 811651

Fantastic selection of books, if you can't find what you're looking for here then you'll struggle to find it elsewhere

A wonderful second-hand book shop. Large and maze-like. You can lose track of time in here browsing the shelves of books covering all subjects. Probably not for everyone particularly those with kids and those with mobility issues as it does feature a lot of stairs and narrow corridors.

The Baobab Centre & Bookshop

2 Batchelor St, Chatham ME4 4BJ, UK – 01634 840862

A very peaceful place and a wonderful atmosphere. I strongly recommend and am personally delighted that the shop owner showed genuine interest in my book which I have published, "Paramedic Chris".

Love this place of peace. Heaven touching earth. I can feel the prayer that has gone into building this ministry. I have always found what I am looking for every time I have gone there. Welcoming, always friendly and I experience great fellowship. I highly recommend this holy ground to every body who is thirsty for any of these things I have just described.
